Who are we? Lymeout
Our Mission: To play, share and promote Grenadian music in the genre known as (calypso, Casio and Soca). Using the internet to play and share our music to the wide and varied audience throughout the Caribbean and the rest of the world.
In doing so we will be ensuring that our Grenadian/Caribbean cultures be it music, art or literature, that forms part of our cultural heritage is made available to all our people no matter where they may be in the world. Time and distance maybe an imposing barrier but it can be breached by the click of a button on the World Wide Web. (Alone or together but not forgotten…)
LYMEOUT was the brainchild of a native Grenadian (Alban Griffith) who was assisted by his son Brandon Dowden. The idea took shape and form and is still being developed as each day goes by (work in progress). Alban lived and worked in Grenada some thirteen years ago and it was there on SpiceCapitalRadio and Wee.FM that he started to hone his skills and developed his passion and knowledge for the music of his beloved Grenada. He worked with some of the most celebrated Djs’ of the time such as Danny Boy, Shirma wells and Paul Roberts to name a few. He later went to live in the UK and continue to pursue his dream of being on the radio, playing to his beloved Grenadian people the music they love to hear.
With the explosion of the internet he saw his opportunity to bring his dream to fruition. This he envisaged would allow him to continue to play the kind of music he knew the people wanted to hear and was craving for. Also, it would allow him to show his creativity in radio presenting to his audience. Lymeout.co.uk has been broadcasting now for fifteen months and is a continual work in progress. This Radio Station has a very bright future ahead and under the stewardship of this proud Grenadian.
